Calibration

  Lake Shore Industrial Services acquired Lewis Calibration in January, 1999.  Lake Shore had seen the need for a calibration service in the Erie area.  We took an interest immediately in improving the current business by using A2LA to be the accrediting body.  Fourteen months later, we became an accredited laboratory  (#1505.01) . 

  After the large investment into our accreditation, many new opportunities arose for future business partners.  Included in our calibration process is a web-based gage tracking software, DataView Browser.  This offers the customers around-the-clock monitoring of their gages and the ability to have a paperless system that can be accessed at any time. 

  Today, Lake Shore uses MITUTOYO, MAHR, STURTEVANT RICHMONT, PRATT & WHITNEY, STARRETT and other high-end calibration equipment in our temperature-controlled lab.  Lake Shore uses only certified sub-contractors for items not currently on our scope.
